MAID IN AMERICA is not the employer of the domestic worker it referred to you. Depending on your arrangement with the domestic worker, you may have employer responsibilities, which means, under California law, if the portion of money collected paid to the housecleaner is more than one thousand dollars per calendar quarter (which would be three cleanings a week approximately) you would be considered his/her employer.
